The 5th of January sees the start of the winter sales in Milan. Shopping areas throughout the city such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II will be the place to hunt out some bargains.
Top models, designers and fashion editors will flock to Milan during Milan fashion weeks. In 2016 the fashion weeks for men are 16th – 19th January and 18th – 21st June. Ladies fashion weeks will take place from 24th February – 1st March and 21st – 27th September.
A papal visit
As part of the 2015-16 Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, The Vatican has announced that Pope Francis will make his first visit to Milan on May 7th 2016. Details of the visit are still to be confirmed but are likely to include an open-air mass.
